Film mixing is the process of combining the different sonic elements of a film, dialogue, effects, music, atmosphere, into one final sound. Quad-A put together a short, free walkthrough of that process across three sessions.
- DAY ONE: what a mix actually is, the elements it balances, and how to think about a scene before touching a fader.
- DAY TWO: building the mix, gain staging, EQ and levels across dialogue, effects and music.
- DAY THREE: finishing the mix, mastering and delivering to spec.
The course was built and taught from inside Quad-A's own rooms, East Africa's first Dolby Atmos enabled facility, covering feature films, documentaries, commercials, podcasts, games and music.
