Quad-A Group is a creative audio powerhouse headquartered at Plot 8, Martyrs’ Way, Ntinda, Kampala, on a mission to rebrand Africa through sound.
Founded in March 2000 by Ahuurra Andrew, Quad-A grew from a roster of two hundred local artistes into East Africa’s premier audio facility. The rooms turn out industry-standard sound for film, television and advertising, and the Academy trains the next generation of African audio engineers. Credits include the first Ugandan film approved on Netflix and the first two Amazon Prime Originals in Africa.
The group runs four frequencies: Audio Production, Audio Post-Production on East Africa’s premier Dolby Atmos stage, the Quad-A Academy, and XP Africa, the African SFX & music library.
Vision
“To see Africa as the best choice of entertainment and audio technology, globally.”
Mission
“To re-brand Africa through sound, by delivering high-quality, premium audio services, educating the next generation of audio engineers, driving innovation, and distributing new audio products globally.”
Values
Our process
- COMPREHEND: a vision-casting and production meeting with the client to understand the vision and the problem; deliverables and the final outcome are agreed upfront.
- CONCEPTUALISE: a prototype is developed: recording, music, research on the nature of the service and the vision agreed on.
- COMMUNICATE: the solution is built and delivered: editing, mixing, mastering and encoding to spec.

Strategic direction 2020-2030
From the best audio post-production facility in Uganda to the best in East and Central Africa and, by 2030, the best in Africa. The path runs through six commitments:
- Prospects: understand our customers deeply: content creators, artists, aspiring engineers and agencies.
- Products: audio post, audio production, the Academy, and the XP Africa sound & music libraries.
- Processes: continuously review and document how we work so quality is repeatable.
- Partners: meet the standards of Netflix and Dolby; build networks with festivals, cinemas and post facilities.
- People: train, equip and grow the team; turn interns into professionals.
- Property: world-class rooms, hardware and software worthy of the stories.
Progress is measured the honest way: engineers trained each year, quality and demand of the content produced, market share, and awards on the wall.
Governance
Quad-A is guided by a five-member Board of Advisors spanning strategic finance, legal & compliance, broadcast, sound engineering education and entertainment technology. Partners include Dolby, the Dolby Institute, the British Council and the Mastercard Foundation CAPP program.
