Working Safely during COVID 19

As part of our commitment to the health and wellbeing of our clients and team, we are working under new operating guidelines in complete compliance with the latest Uganda Government recommendations. Social distancing and the additional health and safety requirements will have a material impact on you, our clients, our staff and how our building operates.

Risk Assessment

The Government Mandated Risk Assessment, produced in line with the specific government guide for offices and contact centres, follows the Uganda Government’s steps to working safely. We recommend you familiarise yourself with this document. Please note that this is an ever-evolving document, as government guidelines, occupancy levels and operating experience influence our approach.

General Risk Assessment

To read measures specific to the Studios and the recording industry, including our building specific operating protocols, how we are controlling risk and further recommendations, please read through the General Risk Assessment document. Please note that this is an ever-evolving document, as government guidelines, occupancy levels and operating experience influence our approach.

What you need to know before coming to the studios

Observing social distancing

  • We have installed appropriate signage throughout the building to help manage the flow of people and maintain social distancing and limit interaction
  • It is the responsibility of each individual to respect social distancing and adhere to the recommended flow and queuing systems in place at the Studios
  • As our corridors are narrow and in places will have to accommodate two-way people traffic, government recommendation is that everyone wears a mask in these common areas
  • Please be advised that it is each visitor and clients’ responsibility to bring their own mask/PPE to the building for such purposes
  • ‘One person at a time’ entry to all bathrooms, with ‘in-use indicators on every bathroom door and a queuing system outside
  • Studio live room and control room capacity will be significantly reduced to allow for social distancing.
  • Each Studio live room will be laid out to ensure musicians are at least 2m apart for all sessions, with clear queue management to get musicians in and out of the room
  • Air conditioning in the main studio areas of studios 1 and 2 are set to 100% fresh air

Personal Hygiene

  • Sanitizing stations and signage in all occupied studios, reception and stair lobbies
  • Advisory/guidance handwash signage in all bathrooms
  • Appropriate levels of handwash in all bathrooms
  • Contactless hand dryers in all bathrooms, with paper towels as an alternative in handwashing facilities
  • Pedal-operated sanitary bins in all bathrooms
  • Urinals and showers will be out of service until further notice

Quad A Team

  • All staff will have received COVID-19 health and safety training prior to recommencing work in the building
  • All members of staff will certify and confirm they are free of COVID-19 symptoms on a daily basis before being allowed to access the building
  • Quad A will be responsible for supplying PPE for its own staff and will consist of disposable masks and gloves
  • From time to time Quad A technical staff and/or additional engineers may be required in the control room or live rooms. They will limit their time in the space and wear suitable PPE at all times Enhanced COVID-19 Specific Cleaning In addition to our standard cleaning service, we will employ additional cleaning resources to:
  • Frequently clean and disinfect high impact objects and surfaces that are touched regularly, such as door handles, bathrooms, stairwells and reception areas throughout the day, using appropriate cleaning products and methods
  • Place sanitizing stations in key areas and maintain adequate stock of all cleaning supplies
  • Perform a deep clean of all occupied studios at the end of the project/session duration, so that each new booking starts in a thoroughly clean studio environment
  • All studio equipment will be wiped down and disinfected at the end of every project or when there is a change in session personnel within a project

Studio Capacity

Studio live room and control room capacity will be significantly reduced to ensure that artists, musicians, engineers, producers and composers observe the current Uganda Government social distancing guidelines. Our services are available as unattended sessions.
